The contents of this book were compiled by respected scientists Mark Crundwell and Cameron Dunn. This thought-provoking book highlights the most important issues facing our natural world by combining information gleaned from the world’s authoritative sources with visually arresting imagery. Critically, this is a publication that takes a holistic view of the world and presents facts, not fiction, about the current state of our planet. All graphics were created by Barnbrook
Eco facts also gave us the opportunity to showcase the open-source movement by setting the intro section and backmatter in an open-source typeface – DejaVu Mono – and creating graphics using the open-source programming language and development environment Processing. The book had to be as environmentally friendly as possible, so we printed using soy ink (an alternative to traditional petroleum-based ink) on FSC accredited paper. A portion of the profits were donated to the Rainforest Alliance.
