Fashion and Art Collusion Book

£20.00

Britain Creates: Fashion and Art Collusion

Launched in conjunction with an exhibition at the V&A in 2012, Britain Creates: Fashion & Art Collusion celebrating the relationships between fashion designers and visual artists. The book, created in conjunction with the British Fashion Council, documents nine collaborations between leading artists and fashion designers in a box set that includes two books, posters of the finished artworks along with a CD containing an audio track collaboration between Hussein Chalayan and Gavin Turk.

The bold and minimal design explores the idea of pairs. Contrasting colours, forms and textures are brought together to echo the idea of a creative partnership. The first of the two books contains an introduction by Lucy Yeomans and an essay by Iain R. Webb, plus biographies of designers and artists involved with the project alongside additional rough sketches, notes and ideas of their collaborative efforts. The second book includes visual interviews of artists’ and designers’ in their studios, highlighting their joint creative process with a foreword by curator Susanna Greeves and photography by Gautier Deblonde and Stephen White.
